La Golondrina Restaurant borrows the nickname of a man named Julio Gómez, who, in 1896, built a trading post at this site, rumored to have been the planned site of a mission. Señor Gómez created a bit of history when he returned faithfully from mainland Mexico to stock his trading post at the same time that the swallows returned to Mission San Juan Capistrano each year from their winter 6000 miles south in Argentina. This earned him the nickname “La Golondrina” (the swallow bird) and became the name of the oldest building in Cabo San Lucas, staying a part of history more than 125 years later.
Known for outstanding steaks, ribs, and the freshest seafood, La Golondrina has become a go-to place for dining since 1993. This beautiful outdoor dining experience is considered a must-do in Cabo San Lucas.
Come and enjoy a wonderful experience under the stars beneath our famous over 150-year-old mesquite tree.
